Protest Secretary Zinke at ALEC Conference

Our Secretary of the Interior, Ryan Zinke, will be addressing guests at ALEC's annual meeting this week. ALEC passed resolution over 20 years ago opposing national monuments and has been at the forefront of returning federal public lands to the states.

Secretary Zinke works for us and has received millions of public comments begging him to keep our public lands protected. Will he heed public opinion? Or fold to ALEC's lobbying that he "not hesitate to rein in the excesses of previous presidents and free states and local communities from under the federal boot." (ALEC.org).

Please let Secretary Zinke know what you think of this conflict of interest.

Millions of Americans have made public comments asking you to preserve our national monuments. It does not seem appropriate for you to attend ALEC's annual meeting this week when ALEC has been lobbying to reduce and abolish national monuments for 20 years.
