CALL TO ACTION: Demand Senator Cardin Withdraw Sponsorship of SB1514

Sadly, environmental champion, Maryland's Senator Ben Cardin has joined a group of Senators to co-sponsor a bill that would strip wolf protections in the Great Lakes, circumvent the Endangered Species Act and prevent the EPA from ever addressing lead poisoning in fishing gear. In exchange for these decidedly anti-environmental, anti-Democratic positions, the bill would also reauthorize several conservation wetlands programs -  "a procedural action by Congress that has no real-work impact of funding levels."

Per Center for Biological Diversity's Brett Harti: “This legislation won’t help conservation on the ground anywhere — not a single animal or plant will benefit from this horrible legislation. Sadly Cardin is trading killing thousands of wolves for a largely symbolic effort to help Chesapeake Bay. This is a disaster.”

HERE IS THE SCRIPT:  I am asking Sen. Cardin to rescind his sponsorship of the "HELP for Wildlife Act" (S. 1514). This bill is bad for our wildlife and would tarnish the Senator's environmental record.

MARYLAND RESIDENTS:

Please call and email (COMMENT FORM HERE) Senator Cardin and demand that he rescind his co-sponsorship of SB1514.
