CALL TO ACTION: Say NO to Zinke as Secretary of Interior

Montana's only representative, Ryan Zinke, has been nominated to lead the Department of the Interior. Unfortunately, Zinke's record demonstrates that his leadership would endanger our wildlife, our public lands and our planet. Zinke has promoted increased fossil fuel development on public lands, led efforts to strip endangered species of their federal protections and has hemmed and hawed about whether climate change is real. This is NOT the person who should be leading the Department of the Interior.

Please take the following actions to try to convince the Senate to vote NO on Zinke's nomination.

1) Please oppose the nomination of Ryan Zinke as Secretary of the Interior. Zinke is no friend to our wildlife or public lands. He earned an F on his voting record relating to national parks. This is not the person we want overseeing our national parks.

2) Pledge to block the nomination of Ryan Zinke to lead the Department of the Interior. He has consistently voted against conservation measures and, as a trophy hunter who has led efforts to delist wolves, lynx and sage grouse, is no friend to wildlife. Further, Zinke wants to open up more public lands to fossil fuel development and voted to reduce presidential power to create national monuments. Please say NO to Zinke as Secretary of the Interior. 

FOR GOP SENATORS: 

3) During his confirmation hearings, please ask Ryan Zinke where he stands on keeping public lands public. I strongly support public lands remaining under federal control.

FOR DEM SENATORS IN BLUE STATES: Please oppose the nomination of Ryan Zinke to lead the Department of the Interior. Zinke has voted against every conservation measure he encountered in Congress. He has received an F for votes related to national parks yet as Secretary of Interior, Zinke would oversee national parks. He is an avid trophy hunter who has led efforts to strip wolves, sage grouse and lynx of federal protections. Finally, Zinke has pushed opening more federal lands to fossil fuel development. He is not the right person to lead the Department of the Interior.

FOR GOP SENATORS AND DEM SENATORS IN RED STATES: During his confirmation hearings, please ask Ryan Zinke where he stands on keeping public lands under federal control. Most Americans, including myself, favor keeping public lands public but Mr. Zinke has a murky record on this issue.
