I am vehemently opposed to the inhumane, outdated and non-scientific predator control practices set forth in Senate Joint Resolution 18. These are opposed by a majority of Alaskan citizens (by a 2 to 1 margin) and are universally abhorred by all voters, regardless of political party affiliation. Voters will remember sponsorship of a resolution permitting killing of cubs and wolf pups, baiting and shooting grizzlies at point blank range. There will be a political cost to sponsoring this bill.
